if Only…is a new charity being set up to help adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse.
1 in 4 women and 1 in 6 men – these are the statistics that have been provided by those who have been courageous enough to report the horrendous crimes committed against them. The true figures are probably far higher. How shocking is that?
The devastating effects of CSA are not only unbearable to the child at the time of the abuse, but they continue to affect the survivor for their entire life.
if Only… is being set up to offer support to survivors and to raise awareness to everyone else about how we can help.
Aims and objectives
if Only… is going to be run on an entirely voluntary basis. All funds raised will be used to help survivors.
We aim to provide:
Resources for psycho education for survivors and therapists
Useful contact details for helpful information
A safe space for survivors, where they can share their story
We are asking for:
Healthcare professionals to volunteer their time and expertise through a social prescribing scheme.
We are aiming:
To raise £5,000 by the end of 2020, so that we can become registered with the charities commission.
